Second Grade Weekly Update – May 10, 2019

Categories: Second Grade

Parents,

WOW! What a busy week. We had the spring program, the end of the year FFF celebration and we have done a ton of science experiments. We’ve caused erosion, tried to prevent it, determined if something is a science vegetable or fruit, learned about selection and how that has affected the apples we eat today, and more. If you haven’t already please ask your child to tell you about some of the experiments we have been doing.

Please read carefully below about our End of the Year Field Trip with the third graders on Monday to LegoLand! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs. Casteel

End of the Year Field Trip with Third Grade on Monday, May 13th

Here’s a reminder of everything your child needs for our field trip on Monday: blue St. Gregory’s PTO shirt, tennis shoes with socks, a snack, a sacked lunch, and a drink. If the students would like to bring money they may. We ask that they put it in a Ziploc bag with their name on it. Please do not send more than $25. The students do not have to bring money. They can bring some if they’d like to buy something from the gift shop.

Parent volunteers will receive an email with all the information that they need for the trip. Please keep your eyes open for that email this weekend.

End of the Year Mass, Awards Assembly, and Field Day – Friday, May 17th

Please consider joining us for our End of the Year Mass, Awards Assembly, and Field Day next Friday. Mass will start at 8 with the Awards Assembly directly after Mass. Our field day will start around 12:15.

Students are reminded to bring/wear their bathing suit under their clothing.  Boys must wear a t-shirt with their swimming trunks when not going down the water slide.  Girls must have a one piece bathing suit or wear a t-shirt over their two-piece during field day.  Students should also plan to bring a towel, sunscreen, and dry clothes, especially if they will be staying for SACC.
