Sixth grade Travel Bugs have all moved out, and many are out of Missouri now. We have 45 bugs active (current students + alumni) — Track them all
Kingergarten students are devouring the pre-typing curriculum, and they are continue to practice good instruction-following. It is pretty hard to trick them because they are good listeners, but I keep trying!
First grade is having fun with Alpha Games. We are working intensively on posture and hand position and good home-row tapping, which we always follow with a few minutes of fun!
Second & Third graders are working so well inType to Learn 4 that I have instituted a 20-10 policy: After 20 minutes of serious typing, the class is released for 10 minutes of on-line physics games. Their progress is rapid and I am very pleased.
Fourth graders are immersing themselves in Type to Learn 4 as many more of them approach completion of this extensive curriculum. Those students who are finished take a series of maintenance assessments, as well as participate in certain on-line logic puzzles.
Fifth & Sixth grades are finally completing the Open Office tri-fold brochures using text and images within frames after taking a short detour for quarterly typing assessments.
Seventh grade is completing practice collages in Photoshop, using three tools: Clone Stamp, Burn & Dodge, and Magic Lasso (cutouts). We will have a short photo contest before Christmas, and we will make a trifold brochure book report for Language Arts.
Eighth graders are working so hard on the yearbook, already. They know the deadline sneaks up on us so fast. Have you told them “thank you” yet?
