Thank you so much for everyone coming into meet this week! I know we covered lots of information for the end of the year so if you have any questions please let me know.
Please remember that there will not be any school on Friday, February 16th as teachers will be traveling to Kansas City for Professional Development meetings.
This Friday we held the opening ceremonies of our class olympics. Each Friday we will be participating in olympic games! We are ready to practice good sportsmanship and teamwork skills! We will conclude with closing ceremonies on February 28th. We are excited to keep track of medals, and have each created a flag that goes along with our country (table) name. Some of the games require quite a few materials. If you could please save paper towel tubes please send them to school. I hope you were able to watch our opening ceremony on the school’s Facebook page.
We would like to give Dr. Vierthaler a big Thank you! He came in this week to discuss dental health with the kindergarten, first and second graders. We love his demonstrations of brushing his teeth and flossing! We were also amazed to see the amount of sugar that is in drinks!
I hope everyone is ready to exchange Valentines this next week. Please remember to send in cards and exchange boxes on Tuesday, February 13th.
Our new sight words for the week will be: we, on. Please practice these along with the other sight words we have studied. We will also add more CVC words with the vowel focus of “e”. We will also continue our study of the “ch” blend. For math we will continue with our new math facts of adding 2, comparing and ordering objects by length, number words 1-10.
For show and tell this week we will only have show and tell on Tuesday, February 13th to share about our gift exchange boxes.

When it is your child’s birthday I will place their name as snack that day as most students choose to bring in birthday treats. Remember you will just need to provide something to eat as we will provide the afternoon milk that you paid for in your registration. Please remember to try and make it a healthy snack fruit, veggies, crackers, ect. Each day the students will get a napkin but if your snack requires spoons or forks you will need to provide those along with your snack. Our snack is scheduled for the afternoons so if it is your day you can either send it to school with your child that morning or drop it off sometime that day as long as it is at school by 1. Thanks, Mrs. Parman
