We had a WONDERFUL first two days back! After a fabulous Christmas break it was great to ease back into the routine of school with these first two days. The kids have made a wonderful transition back into school life!
We chose to keep our quiet work blankets here at school so they did not come home on Friday but will come home next Friday.
Don’t forget that we will have Library on Tuesday. Please make sure you send both Library books back to school.
We are excited to get started with our Force / Motion Science Unit. Please send in an object that has wheels and we can conduct some experiments on. We will need to keep these items for 2 weeks. So please make sure your child is okay to leave it at school. Please make sure it is labeled somehow with your child’s name.
On Friday where we exploded some soap to see what happened! IT WAS AWESOME! If you would like to try at home just grab a bar of Ivory soap cut it up and put it in the microwave. We took some time to build our vocabulary and perform an experiment by predicting what would happen. We also had to use our senses to figure out what the block of white stuff was as I did not tell the kids that it was soap. Thursday we also had fun building some snow people with our last names! It was fun to see that some are VERY tall!
For show and tell this week please have your child bring in anything they would like. I know that many of the kids got lots of fun things for Christmas and would like to share and tell with their friends. I thought I would repost the show and tell schedule in the newsletter as a reminder for when your child’s show and tell day is. Please remember to send an item on your child’s show and tell day. If the item is too big to fit in your child’s cubbie please send a picture or a video.

Please remember when we return in January to provide a snack for all 13 students. When it is your child’s birthday I will place their name as snack that day as most students choose to bring in birthday treats. Remember you will just need to provide something to eat as we will provide the afternoon milk that you paid for in your registration. Please remember to try and make it a healthy snack fruit, veggies, crackers, ect. Each day the students will get a napkin but if your snack requires spoons or forks you will need to provide those along with your snack. Our snack is scheduled for the afternoons so if it is your day you can either send it to school with your child that morning or drop it off sometime that day as long as it is at school by 1. Thanks, Mrs. Parman
